Water damage is when you have water intrusion in your home and it can cause secondary damage if you don’t get it taken care of. Water damage can occur from supply lines behind or outside the wall where water has leaked out either from your sink, toilet, shower, or if you’re washing machine overflows, or any potential roof damage. Depending on the size of the problem water damage restoration may be needed.

Common signs of water damage can be stains on the carpet or hardwood, ceiling, a musty odor when you cannot see the damage under a cabinet, or warping in the building materials. This means that water damage can go undetected for a while.

Don’t put fans on the water to try and dry it yourself because this could damage your immune system by breathing in the air particles during this process. It will also spread mold faster creating more damage in your home.

An inspection from a reliable company is important and they can find out where the leak is coming from and dry the area and fix the problem. It all depends on the type of water damage it is, but you may need to leave the property when they come to inspect the house and do the water damage restoration.
